Kenya is an African country that is revered by anthropologists and is considered as the cradle of civilization or humanity. The wilderness in Kenya comes with hidden dangers. For the adventurous at heart, Kenya presents the perfect opportunity with its magnificent wildlife reserves, pristine beaches, mighty mountains, thriving coral reefs, and the attraction of ancient Swahili culture. One of the biggest events here is not a human event but it is the migration of wildebeest, which takes place each year from Masaai Mara to the lush plains of Serengeti. Off late, Kenya has also become a popular golf destination and of course the Big 6 cats will always be the most alluring factor for a holiday here.

Why Volunteer In Kenya

Volunteering in Kenya is like being surrounded by some of the best that nature has to offer. In spite of active tourism, Kenya is not an economically stable country and lacks strong infrastructure. As a volunteer in Kenya, you will be able to contribute to its economical growth and at the same time get to understand their cultural behavior, language and needs. Some of the important areas that require volunteers include health sector like hospitals and clinics, education sector like schools, sports, orphanages etc.

Types Of Projects Available

As a part of volunteering in Kenya, you will get to choose the kind of project you are interested in. The different types if projects available include:

*	Coaching Soccer: Soccer has become an important sport over the years and the Kenyan team has also made it to the FIFA world cup. As a volunteer in Kenya, you can use your skills and knowledge of soccer to impart training to the local players and in schools. There are some soccer volunteer programs in Nakuru. All you need is a love for the sport and some basic knowledge of playing the game.

*	Working with orphans: It is not easy to work with orphans because they have never known how to live their life in a proper manner. As a volunteer in Kenya, you will get to work with orphanages where you can impart education, and offer proper guidance to the children so that they can follow the right path.

*	Women’s Education: Women’s education is an important aspect that has not received the status it deserves in Kenya. The literacy rate in women in Kenya is quite low and as a volunteer, you will assist in increasing the literacy rate by providing proper education.

*	HIV/AIDS Awareness Project: One of the major and concerning problems is that of the high AIDS/HIV population in Kenya. The high number of AIDS cases registered show that it has been caused due to lack of awareness and education. Illiteracy and poverty are two major factors that come in the way. You can make the rural population be more aware of this dreaded disease and how to take precautions so that the spread of AIDS can be restricted.

*	Teaching English: English as we all know has become a global language but more than that there is a high demand for English teachers in Kenya. As a volunteer teaching English, you will be associated with schools that can’t afford proper teachers and don’t have the necessary infrastructure.

*	Humanitarian Aid: Most humanitarian projects deal with a number of issues from helping street children to handling conservation responsibilities. As a part of the projects, you will get to work with underprivileged children, orphans, old aged people, famine stricken people, and also with wildlife and in forest reserves.

Volunteer Requirements

Age: The minimum age for volunteering in Kenya should be 18 or older.
Duration: The standard duration of most projects is 5-8 weeks although they can also vary from 1-2 weeks or 9-12 weeks. There are some projects that can vary from 6-9 months.

Language: English

Fee and Other details

There is a fee attached to each of the projects that you volunteer for. The fee is charged in advance and is charged for the following:

1.	Accommodation
2.	Emergency evacuation services
3.	Food/meals
4.	Travel insurance
5.	Transportation within the region
6.	Emergency support
7.	All types of training material
8.	Supervision by local staff
9.	Orientation on arrival
10.	Local sightseeing & recreational activities

Conclusion

Volunteering in Kenya is a wholesome experience because you will get to make a contribution that will help the people of Kenya and the children who are the future and you will derive tremendous satisfaction from your work.

Tanzania is situated in East Africa, and its economy runs primarily on tourism. It is a country of geographical extremes like the highest point being the Mount Kilimanjaro peak and the lowest point being the lake bed in Lake Tanganyika. It also shares a part of Lake Victoria, which is the largest lake on the continent. But Tanzania has much more to offer than this and one such place is the Serengeti. The Serengeti is a national park and a haven for animal lovers as you can spot the big 5’s of Africa and the fastest animal on the plant: the Cheetah.

Why Volunteer In Tanzania

Although tourism is good in Tanzania but it is still stricken with poverty and children often die in the formative years due to malnutrition, AIDS and other diseases. A beautiful country, Tanzania needs help from volunteers to preserve their wildlife, which also seems to be depleting due to extensive poaching. As a volunteer in Tanzania, you will be able to get close to the heart of Tanzania, their people and their lives. You will be able to get access to some of the most spectacular landscapes from Mount Kilimanjaro to the wide grassy savannahs that teem with wildlife, and above all, you will be able to know more about the Masaai woman and the tribe.

Types Of Projects Available
As a part of volunteering in Tanzania, you will get to choose the kind of project you are interested in. The different types if projects available include:

*	Cultural Experience: As a volunteer in Tanzania, you can be a part of the culture of the country and take back with you immeasurable cultural experiences. As a part of this project, you will be able to speak with the local people, mingle with them and collect data for enabling research on the Tanzania people and society.

*	Internships: There are different types of internships available in Tanzania, which can vary from medical training to community trainings and are normally of a longer duration than most of the other programs. The internship programs can be from 9 weeks to a year depending on the nature of the project.

*	Soccer coaching: Soccer is the new craze in Tanzania and they have been preparing for the FIFA world cup for a long time. In fact soccer is the chosen sport in most of the urban and rural schools. So if you are a soccer player or have played the game at any level then you can volunteer for this specific program. It will be grueling as well as fun and present a new way of looking at the younger generation of Tanzania.

*	Teaching in schools: Most of the Tanzania teaching programs are for schools situated in the rural areas. As a volunteer in Tanzania, you can teach different subjects in rural schools from English to mathematics, science, economics and others. Most of the rural schools don’t have proper building structure and lack educational infrastructure. As a volunteer, you can assist the existing teaching staff and also teach.

*	Women’s development: There is a lot of work going on in Tanzania to uplift the status of the Masai women. The Masai tribe is the original people of Tanzania but they have been left out for a long time. As a volunteer, you can impart your experience and teaching and help in strengthening the Masai women for the future.

*	Cheetah Conservation: Cheetah is the fastest mammal on earth and exists only in the African wilderness. There are some interesting Cheetah conservation projects for which you can volunteer. Cheetah’s are almost on the brink of extinction and these conservation projects help with the breeding in wild and captivity for cheetahs and also take care of educating the African farmers so that they don’t end up killing any more of this beautiful animal.

Volunteer Requirements

Age: The minimum age for volunteering in Tanzania should be 16 or older.
Duration: The duration of the projects can vary from 4-12 weeks depending on the nature of volunteer activity

Fee and Other details

There is a fee attached to each of the projects that you volunteer for. The fee is charged in advance and is charged for the following:

1.	Accommodation
2.	Food/meals
3.	Transportation within the region
4.	All types of training material

Conclusion

Volunteering in Tanzania is an opportunity that can’t be missed because Tanzania needs us and we can’t let them down.

Uganda is one of the most beautiful bastions of the African wilderness and has everything for a global tourist or even a backpacker. From trekking opportunities in the volcanic Great Rift Valley to exploring the Gorilla hideouts deep in the mountains; from sunbathing at the isolated and magnificent beaches on the Ssese Islands that seem to be floating in Lake Victoria to being captivated by the mystic Jinja, the source point for the great river Nile, Uganda has just about anything.

Why Volunteer In Uganda

Uganda has a wealth of natural resources but at the same time, it is also a poverty stricken country that has been through civil wars, a cannibalistic dictator and also comes under the AIDS/HIV radar. Volunteering in Uganda will not only open you mind to different cultures and a society that has existed since the early civilizations but also to the depravation that people in Africa have learnt to carry in their stride for too long.

Types Of Projects Available
As a part of volunteering in Uganda, you will get to choose the kind of project you are interested in. The different types if projects available include:

*	Working with Ugandan orphanages: You will get to work with the hundreds and thousands of orphans who have either lost their parents in a war or who have been left homeless by famines. These orphaned children would probably die due to malnutrition but with a little care can grow up to be the future of the country.

*	Teaching: There are different languages that you can teach in Uganda but the most prominent being English. There are projects for teaching English to elementary school children and even orphans in a small village called Niyakasiru.

*	Community Development: In Uganda, there are no communities but groups of villages get together to support each other through all the strife and disasters that have struck the country in the recent past. As a part of the community development project, you can contribute a lot towards creating health awareness, take care of various problems being faced in the day-to-day life by Ugandans and work at temporary teachers in their schools, which are not even sub-standard.

*	HIV/AIDS Project: Africa is believed to have the maximum number of HIV/AIDS affected people. Hence this is the first place to start. In a world where scientists are trying every method possible to develop a miracle medicine for AIDS, the only way to fight it right now is by making people aware of the consequences. As a part of the AIDS/HIV program, you will get to take care of people who are already suffering from it and also at the same time, work with community programs to offer more information on how to prevent it in the first place.

*	Community Work with the tribal: There are different types of tribes in Thailand and as a volunteer in Thailand, you will get to concentrate your efforts towards helping the tribal children and women.

*	Health Projects: There are several health projects that you can contribute to. The medical infrastructure in Uganda is not strong enough and you assistance in developing one can do a lot of good to the country’s future.

*	Conservation Projects: There are different types of conservation projects in Uganda that vary from water conservation to Gorilla and Chimpanzee conservations. These are interesting projects and will help in keeping the African Wilderness alive

Volunteer Requirements

Age: The minimum age for volunteering in Uganda should be 16 or older.
Experience: There is no experience required for most of the programs. But if you are volunteering for specialized programs in clinical operation or in HIV/AIDS programs then you will need to have some amount of experience or certification to assist in medical treatments etc.

1.	Housing
2.	Food/meals
3.	In-country training
4.	Transportation within the region
5.	Staff support

Conclusion

There is so much that you can contribute to in Uganda and to its people. Africa is considered to be the cradle of civilization and it’s high time everyone started looking at it as one and treating the people out there with equal respect.

Africa is a vast continent but most of it lies in the shadow of poverty, malnutrition, drought, lack of education and civil wars. From the famines of Ethiopia to the poaching of wild animals in Kenya, Africa has seen it all. Volunteering in Africa has been a major consideration of Non-profit organizations worldwide.

Different people have different reasons to opt for volunteer work and it can vary from the desire to learn new things about new cultures and societies to travel and gratification through social work and helping mankind. Some people are so devoted to the cause that they have spent their entire lifetime in Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Nairobi etc, while others do as much they can. Volunteering abroad and in continents like Africa, South America and Asia can be an enriching experience with a satisfaction or gratification that is almost incomparable.

There are different organizations requiring volunteers overseas and especially in Africa. Some of the organizations and projects involving volunteering in Africa are:

The Cheetah Recoil Program: This program is being organized at the Marsabit National Park, Kenya as a part of providing opportunities for volunteering in Africa. The Cheetah is the fastest animal on land but off late, due to extensive poaching, the population of Cheetah is almost near extinction. This Cheetah program has been designed specifically for volunteers who have an interest in wildlife conservation and are willing to travel overseas to Kenya. The requirement is for volunteers in groups of 20 who will work in a specific area along with some senior research co-coordinators, game wardens and scientists.

The Azafady Project: The project is being run by an U.K. charity organization and they need volunteering in Africa to effectively alleviate poverty, and at the same time improve and protect the unique and beautiful environment and wildlife. Their overseas volunteer program is two fold. One program is called the Pioneer Madagascar and it offers opportunity for volunteers to work at the grass-root level and create a system through which environmental degradation and poverty can be fought. The second project is called the Lemur Venture which is a lemur conservation project focused on protecting the already threatened population of lemur.

Global Service Corps (GSC): They are an organization who offers overseas volunteering opportunities and this includes projects in Tanzania, Africa. Their volunteering in Africa program involves participants to stay with Tanzanian people in their homes and learn about their life and culture. Volunteers share their own experiences and culture and through daily interaction educate the people of Tanzania. The project areas for volunteers include HIV/AIDS prevention, health, creating sustainable agriculture to prevent hunger, working with hospitals, farms, schools to impart information and create a social community.

There are many more organizations who offer opportunities to volunteers to visit Africa and make a difference. You can also take up volunteering in Africa and the benefits are:

1.	You will be able to give something back. There are many people who feel the need to give back to the society and are passionate about their cause. If you are such a person then volunteering in Africa programs can provide you with a great opportunity to pursue such a cause.

2.	If you are looking for a unique opportunity: There are many projects focusing on people, poverty, social issues, disease or health etc., but there are not as many projects on wildlife and ecosystem conservation. If you are interested in a wildlife conservation project and want to become a volunteer and pursue a related program, then it will be a unique opportunity that will ultimately provide satisfaction.

3.	If you are looking for experience: There are many people who take part in overseas volunteering projects to gather experience required for their career goals or to start their own non profit organization. Either way, volunteering in Africa will provide the necessary experience and much more.

Synopsis
Volunteering in Africa can provide a unique set of opportunities that will be a life changing experience, culturally, educationally, and from a professional standpoint

A Middlesex charity event will bring an end to the UK rugby sevens season finishing on a high note, this year there is hype surrounding the event as the Kenyan 7s team will be joining the draw. It is the first time an African nation has appeared in the tournament in its 85 year history.

The Kenyan 7s are known for their deadly speed and fanatical supporters, and have competed in many international events.

Critics have argued that this years 16 team line up is the strongest ever and the Kenyans will have to fight off tough competition for the coveted Russell Cargill Trophy including Ben Ryan’s England Squad.

“The Middlesex Sevens provides a great opportunity for us to get high quality game time in the run up to the Commonwealth Games and we’re delighted to be taking part,” said England Head coach Ben Ryan.

Joe Lydon who took Wigan to the top of the Middlesex 7s and also coached England and Wales 7s will be splitting his loyalties as he rejoins the contest with the world famous Samurai touring squad.

This years prize fund comes in at 30k with 17,500 earmarked for the winners, there will also be a full day of activities to entertain the spectators including karaoke, cheerleaders, brass band, face painters, souvenir photos, inflatable obstacle course and castle, Rodeo Rugby Ball, Human Demolition Zone, MegaSlide, and Rugby Speed Cage.

The Middlesex 7s is organised in aid of two rugby charities; RFU’s IPF and RPA but there are many other charities that benefit from the event including Help for Heroes, who are represented by a strong team.

Most teams will be using the tournament as a final chance to practice before the Commonwealth tournament in October. The Commonwealth games are being held in Delhi, India and Ayimba has said he will be adding two more players to his pool of 26 that has served for the last two seasons, he has said that he will be satisfied with a top 3 finish in Middlesex.

Sponsors for the event include major rugby brands such as Samurai, Canterbury and Adidas who will likely provide limited edition rugby boots and rugby balls for the teams.

Tunisia, in northeastern Africa is a beautiful country to visit: a country of spices and flowers, ancient history, friendliness, wonderful hotels, restaurants and first class airports.

Tunisia, the northeastern most country in Africa for the past 3000 years, is a colorful and exciting holiday destination. It is a land of spice, flowers, ancient history, and modern hospitality. You will arrive at first class airports, eat in intriguing restaurants and stay at picture perfect hotels.

The climate of Tunisia is superb and the coastline is lovely. Tunisia’s neighbors are Libya and Algeria. The Mediterranean is Tunisia’s northern, and most of its eastern border. Tunisia has been the visiting place and home of many civilizations over its long history. Today’s Tunisian culture is a colorful and fascinating mlange of the cultures of those that have gone before: the Phoenicians, Romans, Vandals, Byzantines, Turks, Spanish and French.

Tunisians depend on bread, “the staff of life”, at every meal. In the city you will find breads from all over the world. In country villages bread is most often unleavened and baked in clay ovens called Tabounas. Every place you visit in Tunisia will offer its own bread specialties.

Other than bread, lamb is the meat that is often most eaten at family meals. Tunisians eat a lot of seafood, olive oil and salads and flavor them with all manner of herbs and spices including cumin, coriander, garlic, parsley, dried peppers and other savory delights! Tunisians are fans of hot and spicy food and often harissa, a hot condiment, is served “on the side” in consideration of visitor’s tastes. And for dessert – Turkish baklava, layers of crispy pastry nuts and cinnamon, all soaked in honey syrup, is a treat not to be missed.

Tunisia’s long and colorful history is preserved in the many hundreds of historical sites and museums that dot the country. The enormous National Museum of Bardo (near Tunis) was a 13th century palace and has been expanded over time so that it’s now a an amazing example of 17th and 18th century Arab architecture and interior dcor. It boasts vaulted ceilings, galleries and cupolas. It also houses the finest collection of mosaics in the world!

The Carthage Museum houses a fine collection of Punic and Roman artifacts including everyday items. Don’t pass the lovely jewelry display by or the distinctive Punic masks made of colored glass paste. The main ruins of Punic Carthage are also in this area. Suffice to say that the area surrounding the Carthage Museum is ripe with historical significance and is a history buff’s dream.

The Dar Ben Abdallah Museum of Traditional Arts and Customs, in Tunis, can be found on the ground floor of the 18th century Dar Ben Abdallah Palace. It is in the medina, the center of old Tunis. This museum is famed for its displays of traditional Tunisian arts as well as its exhibits of the customs of the city of Tunis. Most museums in Tunisia are closed on Mondays.

Tunisia is known for its festivals. You may plan your holiday around a Tunisian festival during most times of the year. Every small village sets aside time for at least one festival. Visitors are welcome. If you are fascinated by the Sahara desert, the Saharian Festival is for you. You will find it in Douz, the “gateway to the Sahara.” The Saharian Festival occurs in the second week of November.

If you are a devotee of world class music, don’t miss the International Music Festival at the El Jem Coliseum from mid-July to mid-August. What could be lovelier than listening to world famous orchestras and artists on a warm Tunisian evening under the stars in a Roman coliseum?

Tunisia is a fascinating place and an excellent holiday destination.

The various designs of glow in the dark products have brought an interesting way in which family parties decorations are done. If you are looking for ideas for grabbing a lot of attention from your guests to your party decorations, then decorating the room with glow sticks products and flashing light up toys will achieve the mission. And also don’t forget glow necklaces for your guests.

You can have all the colors you need to “paint” and that’s easy to achieve since glow sticks come in eight colors. When it come to sizes, you’ve got the 22 long glow necklaces, 8 inch long glow bracelets, 4 and 6 inch long standard light sticks, and then the mini glow stick of 1 to 2 inch long. Besides glow necklaces, there are round glow badges too with sticky back.

Glow products are a great game at night for kids. Nowadays, people give them out to kids during Halloween when they come for trick-or-treat. The glow sticks are not only fun but also light up the way home for kids. And if you want to have more light, some light up toys can be worn too and function as safety light marker. The flashing necklaces, light up hair braids, finger lights & light up sunglasses can all be considered for kids.

There are so many lighted up party supplies nowadays, which can be easily found on the Internet. Whether you are looking for something to wear on the head, around the wrist or fingers, or light up toys to play, LED light up glasses to serve homemade drink, you can find them with the LED technology built in. 6″ flashing and glow sticks can be applied in glowsticking dance and light show, a fun hobby.

One cannot go wrong by preparing flashing toys as gifts for kids. They can play with them all night long. People are attracted by light naturally, especially in the darkness. Light up toys products such as flashing glasses with ice cubes will improve any night party. They are similar to traditional glow sticks items but they can be used repetitively and have longer lives. Don’t forget to try them to have some fun in next family get-together.

Unlike glow products like glow sticks, light up shot glasses can produce multi-color lights and can be used over and over. Simply hand wash and you are ready next time.
